It’s Wednesday, February 1st, 2023…but before we begin, Kurt Schlichter recently recorded how Kevin McCarthy continues to refuse calls for George Santos to resign, as the Speaker uses the “new rules” Dimocrats have been playing by for years as an over-sized suppository for Progressives.

Kurt’s point is yes, Santos is a liar, and quite an accomplished one at that.  But an unfamiliarity with the truth hasn’t seemed to bother Progressives when the unacquainted occupy their side of the aisle, including but not limited to: Richard Blumenthal of Vietnam ignominy; Bob Menendez, corrupt even by New Jersey standards; Ilhan Omar of multiple husband infamy; the legendary LieawathaDiane Feinstein, not only hopelessly hypocritical about denying self-defense options to others she reserves for herself, but perhaps too senile to discern her driver for two decades was a Chinese spy; Eric Swalwell, who just slept with a Chinese spy; Sheldon Whitehouse, who while decrying White privilege belongs to an exclusive all-White beach club; Hillary, whose deeds of daring-do in Bosnia need no introduction…

…(nor her email exploits); and finally, the Big Guy himself, whose entire life has been built on one patent prevarication after another, and shows no sign whatsoever of stopping:

Fact is, Progressivism is itself built upon a foundation of lie, upon lie, upon lie, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseam, ad infinitum.  Which makes these lying Libs…

Now, here’s The Gouge!

First up, since we’re on the subject of lying, hypocritical Progressives, the Morning Jolt relates, in what can only be described as a total 180…

Democrats: Eh, Maybe Georgia’s Electorate Isn’t So Racist after All

In the minds of Democrats, the state of Georgia is either an oppressive racist hellhole or the bright shining future of American politics, depending on the results of the latest election.

Apparently, Georgia is now good again, because NBC News reports that a lot of elected Democrats from Virginia to Louisiana are urging their party to hold the 2024 national convention in Atlanta

So which is it? Is Georgia the state of Jim Crow 2.0, where the electorate was allegedly too racist and sexist and was too easily swayed by “misinformation” to elect Stacey Abrams? Or is it true that, as the southern Democrats contend in their letter, “Everything we have accomplished as a party since January of 2021 can be traced back to Georgia, and specifically, to the metro Atlanta area which swung the state in our favor”?

How could it be that Georgia was too racist to host the 2021 Major League Baseball All-Star game but is not too racist to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention?

Some of this may well be rooted in the perception that “Atlanta” and “Georgia” are two different entities. Winfield Ward Murray, an adjunct professor at Morehouse College, wrote in 2018, “I had always described myself as a native Atlantan, not a native Georgian. To me, there’s a difference.” A lot of big cities perceive themselves as being so culturally, socially, economically, and politically different from the rest of their states — “the sticks” — that they might as well be a different country — think of deep-blue Chicago in otherwise-red Illinois, or the old description of Pennsylvania as “Philadelphia and Pittsburgh in the corners, and Alabama in the middle.”

But this also reeks of shameless political opportunism on the part of the Democrats. When their candidates win and they get their way, the state is a microcosm of the best of America: home of Coca-Cola, Home Depot, UPS, the CDC, peaches and Jimmy Carter — and the inspirational subject of Ray Charles’s classic song. When their party loses and they don’t get their way, Georgia suddenly transforms into a detestable backwater basket case, struggling to let go of the hateful legacies of the Confederacy and segregation.

Democrats really want Biden (or whomever the Democratic nominee is) to win Georgia again in 2024, so lots of Democrats think it’s time to sing the praises of Georgia again…”

Dimocrats: if they didn’t have double-standards, they’d have no standards ‘tall.  The real question isn’t whether Biden has Georgia on his mind, but rather whether he’ll be part of the convention.

It’s also worth noting had Winfield Ward Murray…

…looked like Louis Winthorp III…

…and juxtaposed Georgia and Atlanta, he’d have long ago been branded racist and summarily cancelled.

Dozens of Migrants Refuse to Move from Manhattan Hotel to Brooklyn Mega-Shelter

More than 50 migrants camped outside the Watson Hotel in Manhattan in protest on Sunday night as the city sought to move the single male migrants to a new shelter at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal to make space for migrant families.

The new shelter holds as many as 1,000 single adult men and provides the same services the migrants had been receiving, city officials told the New York PostThe shelter is the fifth Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Center to open in the city since last year.

Several migrants went to the shelter over the weekend before returning to the hotel to sleep outside last night, saying the shelter had no heat, privacy or blankets, according to reports.

One activist told the New York Post that the migrants feel the shelter is “not livable.”…”

Three quick points come immediately to mind: (i) They’re NOT “migrants”, they’re ILLEGAL ALIENS who broke federal immigration law immediately upon crossing into the country.  When even NRO declines to make such a necessary distinction, you know we’re in trouble; (ii) “Not livable”?  As compared to what?!?  The Third World sh*tholes they came from, or perhaps the conditions on their journey?; and (iii) If they won’t go where they’re told, why not put ’em on a the next bus to Brownsville or El Paso?!?

And in the EnvironMental Moment, NRO‘s Luther Ray Abel provides further proof Joe’s the dimmest bulb in the presidential pack, as we learn…

Biden’s Preferred ‘Green’ Car Is Worse for the Environment

We’ve known that the Biden administration cares about the climate about as much as it cares about coherent sentences, but the most recent Twitter post from POTUS really is a humdinger. Seated in a 9,000-pound Hummer EV — an asphalt-crushing weight for a consumer vehicle — Biden cheeses for the cameras and reminds the public why Democrats aren’t worth listening to about conservation and practical climate solutions.

As Peter Huether of the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) notes, the Hummer EV produces more CO2 than a midsize ICE sedan:

Emissions per mile driven are lower for EVs than for similarly sized gasoline-powered cars, but they are not zero. The Chevy Bolt EV is responsible for about 92 grams of carbon dioxide (CO2) per mile when accounting for emissions from the electric grid. (The CO2 calculations are based on the national average, but electric grid emissions vary considerably across the country.) The gasoline-powered Chevy Malibu causes over 320 grams per mile. Comparing larger vehicles, the original Hummer H1 emits 889 grams of CO2 per mile and the new Hummer EV causes 341 grams, demonstrating that behemoth EVs can still be worse for the environment than smaller, conventional vehicles.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d kiss Al Gore for the chance to drive a Hummer EV. But let’s not pretend the 1,000 hp brick is doing the long-eared jerboa any favors.

Which proves climate change takes a back seat to union jobs; Or, more accurately, union campaign contributions.  Talk about an existential crisis!

Moving on, here’s another sextet of special selections certain to pique the interest of inquiring Conservative minds:

(1). Unlike the Navy, where the Skipper of the ship is responsible for everything which transpires on his watch, any chance the Black mayor and police chief of Memphis will resign in response to what occurred under their management?!?

(2). In a related item, Rich Lowry calls a spade a spade as he relates how, if the Memphis cops were White, everything would have been different.

(3). NRO reports on Monday a federal jury acquitted Catholic pro-life activist Mark Houck, charged with violating the FACE Act over a 2021 skirmish with a Planned Parenthood volunteer outside a Pennsylvania clinic.

(4). File this forward from Nick under “Just Desserts”:

(5). Courtesy of the Journal, would it shock anyone to learn, despite increasing concerns over a lack of transparency and completely contrary to the official timelines of discovery, neither the White House nor DOJ bothered to mention the FBI searched 46*’s “think tank” office back in November?  Equally shocking is the refusal of both the DOJ and White House Counsel’s Office to comment.

(6). Writing at NRO, Ryan Mills relates the truth behind the great Florida classroom library kerfuffleSpoiler Alert: It has nothing to do with Ron DeSantis being a homophobic Nazi and everything to do with the MSM’s manifest misrepresentation of events.

Which brings us, appropriately enough, to The Lighter Side:

Then there’s these from Balls Cotton…

…along with one direct from The Patriot Post:

Finally, we’ll call it a wrap with the Sports Section, and news…

Biden-supporter Stephen Curry moves to block ‘low-income housing’ near his $30 million mansion

Curry and his wife also asked the local government to build ‘fencing’ to block low-income residents from seeing their home

NBA superstar Stephen Curry, who publicly endorsed Joe Biden for president in 2020, is opposing a “low-income” housing development near his $30 million mansion, according to a local news report.

“We hesitate to add to the ‘not in our backyard’ (literally) rhetoric, but we wanted to send a note before today’s meeting. Safety and privacy for us and our kids continues to be our top priority and one of the biggest reasons we chose Atherton as home,” Steph and his wife, Ayesha Curry, wrote in a letter to officials in Atherton. It was an attempt by Steph Curry, who was the fifth highest-paid athlete in the world last year, according to Forbes, to prevent undesirables from crowding the area around his home in Atherton, California.

Atherton is one of the most exclusive communities in the U.S., with Forbes ranking it as the “most expensive” zip code in the country this year…”

Steph don’t mind homey buyin’ his shoes and jerseys made with slave labor in China, ‘cuz they makin’ him mo’ money, mo’ money, MO’ money.  Being allowed to live near and/or view his home?

Or in Steph’s case…DON’T!  Put another way, nothing to see here, poor people…please move along!  BTW, this is not to say we would support our local government erecting low-income housing in or around our neighborhood; It’s just, unlike the Currys, we don’t support those who do and then try to carve out an exception for ourselves.
