It’s Monday, February 13th, 2023…but before we begin, the NFL just keeps offering additional reasons to never watch another professional football game again, as the “Black national anthem, which, to the best of our knowledge, was never put to a vote, will once more be sung before the Super Bowl.  Hells bells; We’d sooner watch a World Cup soccer match…or a manifestly mismatched…

Biden’s Weakness on Spy Balloon Assures Chinese Aggression

Steps the Biden administration should take in response to China’s reconnaissance balloon

President Joe Biden’s weakness with China is once again on display. Earlier this week, U.S. officials tracked a Chinese reconnaissance balloon over the American mainland. A Chinese Communist Party spokesperson claimed this was nothing more than a “weather research” balloon that had simply blown off course. Sure, the CCP’s harmless weather balloon just happened to pass over multiple sensitive military sites vital to America’s national security—nobody should believe that nonsense, especially not the Biden administration.

Even if it were true, the CCP’s policy of civil-military fusion—which requires all available research and technology, from China’s private sector or otherwise, to be shared with the Chinese military—makes such an excuse an impossibility. Thus, this appears to be an intentional act of espionage, and it signals that the CCP is feeling ever more emboldened with Biden in charge. If the Biden administration does not act to change this paradigm quickly, the threat of conflict will only continue to grow. Weakness breeds aggression. America must demonstrate clear strength and resolve…”

Meanwhile, even as this craven coward continues cozying up to the ChiComs ’cause they’ve got the goods on his family’s criminal influence peddling activities

…Pentagon propagandist John Kirby recounts the first of a total of three…yes, THREE(er,…make that FOUR!!!) additional “unidentified” Chinese spy craft was shot down over Alaska, ostensibly because it posed a hazard to flight.  Soooo…posing a hazard to flight requires immediate action, while a blatant violation of national sovereignty during an act of espionage doesn’t.  No sign of weakness or craven capitulation here, America…please move along.

In a forward from Nick, former F-14 RIO Ward Carroll points out the inconsistencies in the Pentagon’s hopelessly contradictory claims:

By the way, the Space Force uniforms fit the seriousness of its mission.

Democrats Are Stuck with Biden

He remains their best choice, and that’s not really a good thing.

Joe Biden is still the Democrats’ best bet in 2024 — I stand by that. His poll numbers have steadied as gas prices have fallen, and broken supply chains have healed. He doesn’t inspire the intensity of fear and loathing among Republicans that Bill Clinton and Barack Obama did. Yes, his party went on a spending spree at the end of the Covid emergency, but he’s pivoting toward the middle as he prepares to run again, highlighting the parts of his administration that are genuinely popular — the infrastructure bill, and more energetic competition with China. The great scandal of his administration is his son, Hunter Biden. And so far, the president has avoided direct implication in Hunter’s bad dealings. In some ways, Biden has turned it into an advantage. In a country that consumes 80 percent of the global supply of opioids, loving a troubled addict child is sadly relatable.

But let’s be clear. Joe Biden is their best choice, but that’s not really a good thing. An approval rating in the low 40s is not a great place for an incumbent president to start. A December survey found that a majority of Democrats don’t want Joe Biden to run for president again. Sixty-one percent of Democrats who said that he shouldn’t run again cited his age.

Yeah, that. Joe Biden will be 82 a few weeks after the next election. He’ll be 86 at the end of the next term. You might have noticed it this week when he bragged, “More than half the women in my administration are women.” An 80-year-old crowbar might have been the handiest tool for removing a real-estate mogul from the Oval Office in 2020. But you also might have noticed that a recession is on the way, the United States is in proxy war with Russia over Ukraine, China is dropping new naval ships into the Pacific every few months, and we’re nearly $19 billion behind on weapons deliveries to Taiwan. Do you really want an 85-year-old behind the wheel during this time?

Well, maybe you do if you look at the other options: Kamala Harris. Pete Buttigieg. Elizabeth Warren. Or, you know, AOC?

None of these people can beat Donald Trump — who, by the way, is no longer dining with Kanye West and is instead proceeding to collect endorsements and do rallies and has his strongest campaign team ever. And they aren’t going to beat Ron DeSantis, either…”

Bad news for the Dims, great news for the cause of the Constitution and the preservation of the Founders’ Republic.

Contempt Charges Should Be Just the Start if FBI and DOJ Officials Defy House Subpoenas

A congressional subpoena is not a polite request. It is not the start of a negotiation. It is compulsory.

Let’s say the Justice Department hit you with a subpoena, served by a pair of FBI agents, demanding that you produce documents and testimony on a date in the near future. Let’s say that, instead of complying, you responded by sending a letter to the Justice Department that admonished prosecutors that they were being “premature” in issuing their demand, and proposed instead to “meet” with them in order to “engage” on whether they really needed the materials outlined in the subpoena. Do you suppose that you would be granted this meeting? Or do you suppose that, the moment your production date came and went with no compliance, those nice FBI agents would be back with handcuffs and an arrest warrant, citing you for contempt and obstruction of an investigation?

Not a hard question. The Justice Department and the FBI are not famously tolerant of defiance.

It borders on the hilarious, then, that the DOJ and the bureau have replied to subpoenas from the House Judiciary Committee, now under Republican control, with a snippy letter wondering why Congress is not tripping over itself to negotiate with the Biden administration over the subpoenas’ demands, and why the committee is acting as if its assessments of its needs take precedence over the priorities of the unelected bureaucrats who run agencies that Congress created and that depend on Congress to fund their operations.

I mean, who does Jim Jordan think he is? Bennie Thompson?…”

FBI Has Retracted Memo on ‘Radical Traditionalist Catholic Ideology,’ Says It Failed to Meet Bureau Standards

The FBI said Thursday that an internal memo released by its Richmond field office last month warning against “radical traditionalist Catholic ideology” does not meet the bureau’s standards.

Kyle Seraphin, who was a special agent at the bureau for six years before he was indefinitely suspended without pay in June 2022, published the document, “Interest of Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists in Radical Traditionalist Catholic Ideology Almost Certainly Presents New Mitigation Opportunities,” on UncoverDC.com on Wednesday, after obtaining it from a whistleblower.

“While our standard practice is to not comment on specific intelligence products, this particular field office product – disseminated only within the FBI – regarding racially or ethnically motivated violent extremism does not meet the exacting standards of the FBI,” the bureau said in a statement to National Review. “Upon learning of the document, FBI Headquarters quickly began taking action to remove the document from FBI systems and conduct a review of the basis for the document.”...”

Funny how the Biden clown car only retracts such outrageous assertions after they’re made public.

Moving on, here’s another octet of items specially-selected for inquiring Conservative minds:

(1). Kathy Ireland confesses the most important relationship in her life: Jesus.  You GO, girl!!!

(2). In what can only be filed under News of the Bizarre, an Iowa woman mistakenly pronounced dead a hospice facility “gasped for air” when her body bag was opened in a funeral home.  Oops.

(3). In what explains a lot, the New York Post recently reported Hunter Biden was served with a defamation lawsuit by the computer repair shop owner days before his lawyer called for criminal probes.

(4). The legislators who wrote the HEROES Act, the law that the Biden administration claims gives it broad authority to forgive student loans, have filed a brief with the Supreme Court — declaring in unmistakable terms that the act does not, in fact, give the Biden administration broad authority to forgive student loans.

(5). Imagine the hue and cry which would have been raised across the land had the races of the 9-year-old victim and 15-year-old assailant in this incident been reversed.

(6). In a related item of selective outrage, the co-founder of the Black Lives Matter chapter in Upstate New York was arrested last week after left-wing demonstrators released hundreds of cockroaches inside an Albany courthouse as she was facing arraignment

Following the incident on Tuesday, Clyanna Lightbourn, 34, was taken into custody by the Albany PD and charged with obstruction of governmental administration, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

Just to be clear, they can burn down cities with no repercussions whatsoever, but disturb a courthouse, and…?!?

(7). NRO‘s Phil Klein warns Ron DeSantis to be ready for The Donald’s attacks on his past positions advocating common-sense entitlement reforms.

(8). With Joe’s penchant for denying the obvious, he likely blames Dr. Jill for the stench after passing gas in a room by himself:

…along with this classic direct from The Patriot Post:

Finally, we’ll call it a wrap with two more sordid stories straight from the pages of The Crime Blotter, the first courtesy of yet another crazed Californian:

Doctor cycling on scenic roadway rammed by Lexus then stabbed to death by driver

A Southern California doctor was killed Wednesday during a violent encounter in which he was hit from behind by a vehicle while cycling and then attacked by the driver. Dr. Michael Mammone, 58, was riding a bicycle on scenic Pacific Coast Highway in Dana Point when a Lexus struck him from behind around 3 p.m., the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said. The driver of the car, identified as Vanroy Evan Smith, 39, of Long Beach, struck Mammone and then got out the vehicle and attacked him with a knife, authorities said.

Witnesses said the suspect struck the bicyclist and proceeded to stab the victim at least once in the back, FOX Los Angeles reported. The suspect then allegedly pulled out a gun and fired multiple rounds before he was disarmed by two passersby. Smith was detained by bystanders until authorities arrived. He was arrested on suspicion of murder, the sheriff’s department said. He is slated to appear in court Friday, according to jail records.

Investigators said there was no known connection between Smith and Mammone…”

Is there something in the water out there?!?  Whatever it is, as this next item confirms, its effects are not limited to the criminal class:

California baker who died in robbery wouldn’t have wanted killer locked up, family and friends say

Family and friends of an Oakland baker who was dragged to her death during a robbery say that she would not have wanted her killer to be prosecuted.

“I think Jen would affirm that of course that’s what people have been trained to believe is the answer, to lock people up,” Emily Harris, a close friend of Jen Angel, told the San Francisco Chronicle. “But we know that if the people who cause her harm are sent to jail, all we’re doing is perpetuating more harm.”

Angel, the owner of Angel Cakes bakery, died on Thursday from injuries she sustained after being confronted by armed thieves who smashed her car window outside an Oakland Wells Fargo and fled with her belongings.

As a long-time social movement activist and anarchist, Jen did not believe in state violence, carceral punishment, or incarceration as an effective or just solution to social violence and inequity,” the family wrote in a statement…”

Which, if true, should have no bearing whatsoever on the charges brought against the perpetrators, assuming authorities ever apprehend them.  As with so many Libtards, Angel’s friends and families haven’t stopped to think the criminals’ next victims might not share their utopian naïvité.  Frankly, rather than being a source of inspiration, they’re self-absorbed virtue signalizing disgusts us.
