It’s Monday, September 29th, 2014…but before we begin, a few brief observations on current events precisely reflecting the state of Progressive politics in America.

First, Ezra Klein, one truly educated idiot, continues to defend the manifestly indefensible:

“On the whole, though, costs are lower than expected, enrollment is higher than expected, the number of insurers participating in the exchanges is increasing, and more states are joining the Medicaid expansion. Millions of people have insurance who didn’t have it before. The law is working. But a lot of the people who are convinced Obamacare is a disaster will never know that, because the voices they trust will never tell them.

This is akin to Captain E.J. Smith telling his passengers…

Titanic-sinking

…the Titanic‘s vaunted watertight doors and bulkheads were functioning as advertised.  Klein’s claims aren’t only patently untrue, they’re deliberately deceptive.

Next, John Fund’s utterly accurate recollections of the tenure of the worst Attorney General in American history:

Every time President Obama has broken, bent, ignored or changed the law, the person at his side advising him how to do it has been Eric Holder.

Or as former Justice Department official Hans A. von Spakovsky observed:

“For these reasons and many others, a former career lawyer who served in the Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations told us that, in his opinion, Holder is the worst person to hold the position of Attorney General since the disgraced John Mitchell, who went to jail as a result of the Watergate scandal.’

eric-holder-jail-cell

We’d argue Holder makes Mitchell look like a rank amateur when it comes to blatantly breaching his public trust, not to mention breaking, not bending, the Constitution.

Then again, as Chris Adams notes, courtesy of Fielding Cocke:

“…Why would it surprise anyone he behaved as he did?  As I made clear in my book Injustice, he carried around a quote in his wallet for 40 years about race that, he explained to the Washington Post, indicated that he had common cause with the black criminal.  That’s a fact.  That’s who he is. You can read all about what’s in Eric Holder’s wallet in my book:

holder-jail

For much of his life, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. carried around something peculiar. While most people keep cash, family photos, and credit cards in their wallets, Holder revealed to a reporter in 1996 that he keeps with him an old clipping of a quote from Harlem preacher Reverend Samuel D. Proctor. Holder put the clipping in his wallet in 1971, when he was studying history at Columbia University, and kept it in wallet after wallet over the ensuing decades.

What were Proctor’s words that Holder found so compelling?

Blackness is another issue entirely apart from class in America. No matter how affluent, educated and mobile [a black person] becomes, his race defines him more particularly than anything else. Black people have a common cause that requires attending to, and this cause does not allow for the rigid class separation that is the luxury of American whites. There is a sense in which every black man is as far from liberation as the weakest one if his weakness is attributable to racial injustice.

When asked to explain the passage, Holder replied, “It really says that … I am not the tall U.S. attorney, I am not the thin United States attorney. I am the black United States attorney. And he was saying that no matter how successful you are, there’s a common cause that bonds the black United States attorney with the black criminal or the black doctor with the black homeless person.”

Has anyone ever asked Holder what exactly is the “common cause” that binds the black attorney general and the black criminal? More important, what should the black attorney general do about this common cause? Should the black criminal feel empathy for the black attorney general, or more likely, do the favors only flow in one direction?

Holder’s explanation of Proctor’s quote offers some key insights into our attorney general’s worldview. First, being “more particular” than anything else, skin color limits and defines Americans — in other words, race comes first for Holder.

Which stands in absolute, utter contravention of the Constitution these racist traitors…

Barack Obama, Eric Holder

…are sworn to protect and defend.  Wake up and smell the bullsh*t, America: when it comes to The Left, the rule of law is nothing; the furtherance of Progressive policies everything.

Lastly, some observations regarding the recent beheading in Oklahoma:

1. The cops didn’t stop the perp; he was shot by the company’s COO, an armed American citizen.

2. One Oklahoma local news report (NewsOK.com) conveniently neglected to mention the rather salient fact the dead woman was beheaded.

3. One “unnamed national law enforcement source” refused to acknowledge any connection between the perp’s conversion to Islam and the stabbing, and ultimate beheading, of an innocent woman, choosing instead to classify the act as more Ft. Hood-style “workplace violence”.

4. A Mr. Saad Mohammad, spokesman for the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City, said leaders of the society’s mosque are taking security precautions to protect Muslims who gather there from any potential retaliatory violence. (You know…like the anti-Muslim backlash which followed…

9-11-2001-PA-celebrates

…9/11!

5. The local CAIR representative claimed the beheading has nothing whatsoever to do with Islam, and indeed what Nolen did was the “antithesis of every teaching of the Islamic faith”.

When will the West wake up to the fact such inhuman acts of violence ARE Islam?!?  As detailed at TheReligionofPeace.com:

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule.  Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding.  Muslims who do not join the fight are called ‘hypocrites’ and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.

Yet, despite anyone with an ounce of sense recognizing continued Dimocratic control of the Senate spells irreparable harm to the Republic, the November election results remain in doubt.  Which means the average American is either dumber than…

…dirt, or uninformed as…

Now, here’s The Gouge!

First up, courtesy of USA Today, a rather incongruous headline…

Military to allow undocumented immigrants to serve

images

“A small number of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. will have an opportunity to join the military for the first time in decades under a new Department of Defense policy unveiled Thursday. The new rules will expand an existing program allowing recruiters to target foreign nationals with high-demand skills, mostly rare foreign language expertise or specialized health care training.

For the first time, the program — known as Military Accessions in the National Interest, or MAVNI — will be open to immigrants without a proper visa if they came to the U.S. with their parents before age 16. More specifically, they must be approved under a 2012 Obama administration policy known as Deferred Action for Child Arrivals, or DACA…”

…particularly in light of what the Administration’s promulgated in the very recent past:

Military Forced to Get Picky in Recruiting

10K soldiers must go this year, 20K next year

We sure as heck don’t get it; but if you do, we’d love to hear your explanation.

And since we’re on the subject of the inexplicable, writing at the WSJ, Jason Riley reports on the latest inanity uttered by the Smartest Man in the World:

Obama, Ferguson and . . . the U.N.?

1411654196481_Image_galleryImage_NEW_YORK_NY_SEPTEMBER_24_

The President acted stupidly…yet again!

“…Politico reported that it was “unusual” for the president to reference “domestic U.S. shortcomings during a speech devoted to international issues.” Asked for an explanation, a White House official said the president wanted to acknowledge that the U.S. is “not perfect.”

Well, neither is Mr. Obama’s analogy.

Tensions between the police and low-income black communities are not based on race or ethnicity. They are based on the fact that blacks commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime in America—almost all of it directed at other blacks. Police don’t go into these communities to shoot blacks; they are there, by and large, to stop blacks from shooting each other. They are there because that is where the 911 calls originate. And for their troubles they now have the president of the United States all but comparing them to terrorist groups

Mark our words: the Ferguson grand jury’s finding that Darren Wilson acted in justifiable self-defense is this election cycle’s “October Surprise”, designed purely to inflame the Dimocrats’ Black base.

In other words, it’s politics as usual for the Chicago political machine designed to take no prisoners; and win…no matter the cost…and no matter the ultimate impact on America!

Moving on, here’s a real shocker from the AP:

[Illegal] Immigrant families fail to report to agents

hasta-la-vista-baby

And thanks for the free airfare!

“Tens of thousands of young families caught crossing the border illegally earlier this year subsequently failed to meet with federal immigration agents, as they were instructed, the Homeland Security Department has acknowledged privately.

An official with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement revealed that about 70 percent of immigrant families the Obama administration had released into the U.S. never showed up weeks later for follow up appointments

Speaking of the only Administration in American history willing to sacrifice the Founding Father’s vision for the country in the name of political expediency, Victor Davis Hanson questions the status of those…

Old and In the Way?

grimZeke1-e1411596864559

“Normally, no one would care that in a recent Atlantic essay — “Why I hope to die at 75”– 57-year-old Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel argued that living to be 75 years old was long enough for anyone. After 75, Emanuel suggests, “We are no longer remembered as vibrant and engaged but as feeble, ineffectual, even pathetic.

But Emanuel is no garden-variety crackpot. Nor is he a wannabe science-fiction writer dreaming of a centrally planned planet of robust youthful humanoids. Unfortunately, he was one of the chief architects of the troubled Affordable Care Act and a key medical advisor to the Obama administration.

The ACA’s conservative critics have long knocked Obamacare as a first step toward medical rationing. Read Emanuel’s diatribe against living too long, and suddenly Sarah Palin’s attack on Obamacare’s “death panels” does not seem so far-fetched.

…Age is no absolute barometer. We all know those who at 75 are far more vigorous than others who are couch potatoes at 40. If Emanuel’s point is that living beyond 75 is unwise given the odds that society will reap less achievement per resources invested, then that frightening anti-humanist argument can be extended to almost any category

In a related item, brought to us today by the Washington Examiner, Tim Carney reveals…

The Great Healthcare Cashout: Top Cardin aide to the hospital lobby

K-Street-e1336522660378

“…The lawmakers, federal appointees and congressional staffers who crafted Obamacare continue to get rich by going to work for the companies subsidized and regulated by the law. Two weeks ago, Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., a member of the Finance Committee’s health care subcommittee, bid adieu on the Senate floor to a longtime staffer, Priscilla Ross…

Ross, this week, began as “senior associate director for federal relations” at the American Hospital Association. In other words, she will help run the hospital industry’s main lobbying shop. The “unprecedented changes happening in the health care field” are mostly the result of Obamacare, which Ross helped craft — exactly the point Nickels is making when he says, “Her background in health care policy will be an asset to hospitals as they navigate the transformation…

Yet Carney maintains Ross had a “truly impressive record of public service“. We term Ross’ tenure self-service, particularly in light of her “cashing in” when she “checked out”.  The fact as conservative a Washington pundit as Tim Carney didn’t…or couldn’t…recognize the difference leads us to question whether anyone is immune from immersion in the Capital Culture.

And in what can truly be described as a cross between the Environmental Moment and the “Your Tax Dollars at Work” segment…

US Homeland Security moves to tackle climate change risks

20100204-redstate_dhs

…”Increasingly, we’ve moved not only from a security focus to a resiliency focus,” said Caitlin Durkovich, assistant secretary for infrastructure protection at Homeland Security, an agency better known for its fight to curb terrorist threats.

Durkovich spoke Thursday on a panel at the Rising Seas Summit, a three-day conference organized by the U.S.-based Association of Climate Change Officers to discuss tools and ideas on building resiliency, particularly against rising sea levels.

In the aftermath of 2012’s Hurricane Sandy, which devastated large swathes of the Northeastern U.S and caused over $60 billion in damages, Durkovich said her department reviewed the task of rebuilding with a new focus on “how to think about baking in resilience from the get-go.“…

Couldn’t have been the result of unregulated development too close to sea level; had to be the impact of anthropogenic global warming…er,…climate change…er,…climate disruption!

Then there’s this from the WSJ:

Elon Musk Scores Again

Cuomo bans fracking but gives the billionaire’s company $750 million.

musk-obama1

No Crony Capitalism here!!!

…So Mr. Cuomo continues to ban natural gas fracking, which requires no subsidies and would increase jobs and tax revenue, yet he ponies up cash for a green-energy company that makes no money even with subsidies. Thus do liberals help the rich get richer.

Provided of course the “richer” continue to contribute to Liberals’ reelection campaigns!

On the Lighter Side…

Finally, since we’re on the subject of animals, we’ll wrap up the day with yet another sordid story ripped from the pages of The Crime Blotter:

Couple Accused in Stabbing Death of Neighbor in Dispute Over Pets

fresno-neighbor-killing

A Fresno woman has been charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of a neighbor, allegedly during a dispute over their pets. Laquandra Ligons, 27, was charged with murder in the death of 56-year-old Mary Lara, while her husband, 31-year-old Thurman Ligons, was charged with acting as an accessory to murder, Fresno Police Sgt. Dave Ramos said. The couple were arrested Sunday.

While walking her pitbull at night (with her two children!), Laquandra Ligons argued with Lara in front of Lara’s home in the 1300 block of North Eighth Street, Ramos said. Lara was apparently afraid the dog would attack her cats, which were in the front yard, police saidThe argument quickly escalated, and Lara was stabbed several times  before being picked up and driven away from the scene by her husband, according to authorities.

To the best of our knowledge, neither B. Hussein Obama, Eric Holder, The Reverends, nor any other blood-sucking, parasite from the racial grievance industry plans any involvement in the aftermath of Lara’s murder.
