It’s Wednesday, March 14th, 2018…but before we begin, consider this headline:

ICE removal key goal of Democrats in 2020 election

Is there any questionany question at all…Dimocrats are, for purely political purposes, placing the well-being of illegal foreigners above the needs of law-abiding American citizens?

Now, here’s The Gouge!

Leading off today’s installment, courtesy of Bill Meisen and The Maven, Holly Matkin details how…

Mayor Removes Armed Police From All New York City Public Schools

“New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has followed through with his plan to remove police officers from all New York City public schools, despite nationwide demands for increased school security in the wake of the Feb. 14 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre. “There’s nothing more terrifying than putting more guns in our kids schools,” de Blasio told WPIX just after the attack, during which 17 people were murdered, and 14 more were wounded.

De Blasio had planned to remove New York Police Department (NYPD) officers even before the deadly mass shooting, and said he would instead introduce unarmed school safety agents at each of the city’s 1,700 schools, the New York Post reported. It’s not clear how the unarmed security will be able to stop school shootings.

The mayor’s new NYPD community policing units are being told to frequently stop by schools as part of their patrol duties, he said.

…“Adding an armed police officer in each school building would place an enormous fiscal burden on the City’s budget,” he said in June of 2017, according to the New York Post. “The cost of this proposal is estimated to be $1.2 billion annually.”

Using the Mayor’s math, that’s roughly a cost of $705,000 per officer if one was assigned to each school…”

First, as TLJ so sagely observed, what a great policy to promulgate to the publicWhy not just hang a big sign saying, “Come and shoot us!”  Oh,…

never mind!

Second, as The Boss queried, exactly what function does an “unarmed school safety agent” serve?!?  And what possible use will they be if forced to confront some of the students Obama’s open borders policies purposely placed in our public schools?!?

Third and most importantly, we’re forced to wonder what on earth could De Blasio’s motivation be for such a suicidal,…no,…make that criminally-negligent policy.  You’ll forgive our refusal to grant this Marxist moron the benefit of the doubt by suggesting he might be purposefully inviting another mass shooting to advance the Progressive gun confiscation agenda.

Just sayin’.

Regardless, this just goes to show why De Blasio is generally recognized as the…

And in state populated by various and sundry Cuomos, that’s really saying something!

Speaking of really saying something, this next video forwarded by Balls Cotton has us wishing for a Pence/Bevin ticket in 2020:

WOW; and we mean, WOW!!!  Sorry, but Matt Bevin’s reasoned, fact-based, from-the-heart response leaves us wishing The Donald reconsiders running for reelection.

In a related item, as Victor Davis Hanson records at his Private Papers

The New Left Trumps the Old Right

Anti-Semitism, racism, deception, and dirty tricks: For progressives, the ends justify the means.

In the old days, anti-Semitism was more the domain of white rednecks railing against supposedly sneaky, rich, Eastern bankers and New York traders(not to mention retail real estate developers and tenants! ;-)) Today it is the “intersectional” collection of black extremists, Palestinian nationalists, and radical feminists. They apparently feel immune from charges of anti-Semitism, on the premise that minorities cannot themselves be bigots and that leftists can loathe and single out Israel for inordinate venom, but not be anti-Semitic.

In sum, the octogenarian Farrakhan is now a mainstream identity-politics activist and an apparently integral part of the new Democratic party’s “inclusion” agenda. Why else would Representative Jim Clyburn (the third-ranking Democrat in the House) have shared a stage with him? Or why would DNC vice chairman Keith Ellison (former Nation of Islam member) shrug off his relationship to Farrakhan with the assertion, “I am telling you, no one cares.” And if one looks to the Democratic hierarchy, he’s apparently right…”

Thus Progressive identity politics run afoul of reality.

And in the Environmental Moment, brought to us today by an idiotic, hypocritical Austrian, Climate Depot reveals how…

Schwarzenegger used private jet for daily commutes to California’s governor’s mansion

But the actor now wants to take oil companies to court “for knowingly killing people all over the world.”

“…Former GOP California governor and global warming activist Arnold Schwarzenegger came under fire for his near-daily private jet commute from his Brentwood home to the governor’s mansion in Sacramento. “The governor’s Gulf-stream jet does nearly as much damage to the environment in one hour as a small car does in a year,” the Los AngelesTimes reported in 2008. But not to worry, because “Schwarzenegger is well aware of this and makes amends by purchasing pollution credits for the carbon dioxide his jet releases.”

Still, Schwarzenegger’s fellow environmentalists were distressed by his hypocrisy. Environmental activist Denis Hayes told the paper, “If you are going to be talking about an issue, you should be living the reality you are trying to embrace.”

An undaunted Schwarzenegger did not let this stop him from touting “air-drying your clothes” to fight global warming. “These are the kind of things that anyone can do. Did you know that air-drying your clothes for six months saves 700 pounds of carbon dioxide?” he asked in his Governor’s Earth Day message in 2009. There were no reports of Schwarzenegger’s clothing hanging in the wind at the governor’s mansion in Sacramento.

The Hummer-driving Schwarzenegger had all kinds of suggestions for other people.“Keep the right tire pressure in your car and you will reduce gasoline costs by 4 percent. Now maybe that doesn’t seem like much. But listen to this: If everyone in the country took this simple step, America’s oil consumption would drop by 800,000 barrels a day. You get it? That’s the power the individual has,” he said.

Evidently, some “individuals” choose to exercise their power over the environment…

…less than others!

Which brings us, appropriately enough, to The Lighter Side:

Then there’s this series of memes sent to us by Mark Foster:

Finally, courtesy of Bill Meisen, we’ll call it a day with yet another titillating tale torn from the pages of The Crime Blotter, as The Daily Caller memorializes…

The Moment A Gang Member Was Shot To Death In Utah Courtroom

“…U.S. District Judge John Dowdell released the footage Monday over protests from the family of the man who was killed, Siale Angilau, Deseret News reported.

Angliau, a member of the Tongan Crips gang, is seen grabbing a pen and rushing another gang member who was testifying against him. The other gang member was shackled, but managed to escape to the corner of the room as Angilau leaped into the witness box and fell to the floor. He was concealed behind the witness stand when officers opened fire…”

To which we can only say…

…while applauding the actions of the quick-thinking officer.
