It’s Friday, March 23rd, 2016…but before we begin, writing at his Best of the Web, Jim Freeman offers two rather humorous responses to recent headlines we felt worth sharing:

And it’s about time…

Trump Names John Bolton As New National Security Adviser

…this guy was pulled from the bench and put back in the game.  He has more wisdom, common sense and command of foreign policy in his mustache than the entire Obama team…

…in total.  But will The Donald heed his advice?!?

Oh,…and based on this report from Townhall.com‘s Matt Vespa, we wouldn’t do business with Citigroup if our life depended on it:

Backdoor Ban? Citigroup Tells Clients No Firearm Sales To People Under 21, No High Capacity Magazines

“…Citigroup said it does not have the technology nor the legal ability to monitor gun purchases at the payment processing level, but said that the industry is discussing the possibility.

The company said it would not enforce a specific deadline and instead hopes to have all of its clients on board with the gun restrictions within a few months…”

Because if they succeed in banning guns, which is undeniably their ultimate goal, our life, and the lives of our loved ones, may very well depend on it.

Now, here’s The Gouge!

First up, just when we thought we’d fully plumbed the depths of Liberal vitriol and venom, as this report from FOX News informs us, we ain’t seen nothin‘ yet:

Ivanka Trump’s visit to Iowa salon sparks social media backlash

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds with Ivanka Trump at the Salon Spa W.

“Our Monday kicked off with styling Ivanka Trump for her visit to Iowa! We [love] supporting women in politics,” the salon wrote in a caption on Facebook, which has since been edited. Despite the salon’s excitement, hundreds of followers lambasted the business for styling the White House adviser and threatened to never return. Some people said the photo was “f—ing gross” and vowed to unfollow the page.

“I agree with previous posters…this is NOTHING to be proud of,” one woman wrote.

Another Facebook user commented, “Will never book an appointment at this salon again. Total bum out. This salon employs hetero/non-hetero individuals and this just truly sucks. The fact that Salon Spa W was inclusive was always a big A + to me. You put your money where your mouth is as your vote. I loved this salon. I’m so, so disappointed and I can’t imagine how your non-cisgender employees/clients feel. Fail. Won’t ever be back.”

“You will never get my business based on this one post,” a woman wrote, garnering dozens of “thumbs up” and “heart” reactions from users.

Some clients said the salon “should know better” than to serve Trump, while others said they lost all respect for the employees…”

WTF is wrong with these people?!?

First, this same salon was served Barack Hussein Obama, and we cannot recall a comparable cacophony of Conservative voices crying out for a boycott.

Second, do these Progressive pharisees not realize the hypocrisy inherent in advocating a business illegally refuse someone service on the basis of their political views and/or parents after repeatedly excoriating florists and bakers for exercising their legal 1st Amendment protections in like fashion?!?

Third and last, who on earth “follows” a hair salon’s Facebook page?!?   Don’t these people have jobs…let alone lives?!?

Next up, in today’s installment of the Your Tax Dollars at Work segment, we learn…

Key design change stymied cost, schedule of bridge in deadly Florida collapse

Construction of the pedestrian bridge that collapsed and killed six people in the Miami area was behind schedule and millions over budget, in part because of a key change in the design and placement of one of its support towers.

Documents obtained by the Associated Press through a public-records request show that the Florida Department of Transportation in October 2016 ordered Florida International University and its contractors to move one of the bridge’s main support structures 11 feet north to the edge of a canal, widening the gap between the crossing’s end supports and requiring some new structural design.

Videos of the collapse show that the concrete, prefabricated segment of the bridge started crumbling on the same end of the span where the tower redesign occurred, two days after an engineer on the project reported cracks in the same location. The segment that failed had been placed atop the pylon’s footing, and the taller tower section was to be installed later.

Though it is still unclear if the design change played a role in the failure, emails between the school, contractors, officials with the city of Sweetwater and permitting agencies show a project that ended up behind schedule, which had officials worried that further delays could jeopardize millions in federal Department of Transportation funds.

When the bridge collapsed, the project was already running about $2.6 million over its $9.4 million initial budget, cost-tracking documents from February show. Originally scheduled to be completed in July, the finish date had been pushed back to January 2019…”

A dozen Iraq war myths that need to die

“It’s been 15 years since President George W. Bush made the controversial decision to invade Iraq to oust Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. Alas, while Iraq has taken great strides forward, many of the pundits and policymakers not only continue to treat Iraq and Iraqis as a partisan football, but perpetuate false myths about its run-up and aftermath. Here are 12…

Fifteen years on, Iraq has turned a corner. About 40 percent of Iraqis were born after the war and never knew Saddam Hussein. According to United Nations statistics, violence in Iraq has declined precipitously. It is now safe to walk around Baghdad, and many Iraqis are taking advantage of that city’s parks, restaurants, and shopping malls.

And, importantly, Iraqis across the ethnic, sectarian, and political spectrum have real say in their governance.

When then-President Harry S. Truman embroiled the United States in the Korean War, critics accused him of embroiling America in open-ended war and ignoring his generals. They insisted democracy was alien to Korean culture. Time proved Truman right, as any juxtaposition of nuclear North Korea with democratic South Korea shows.

Increasingly, it looks like time will prove Bush right as well. Iraq and Iraqis suffered tremendously both before and after Saddam’s ouster, but left to their own devices, they now show they can and will succeed. Unfortunately, while they have overcome war and insurgency, they must still suffer under those who see them only through the lens of Washington’s partisan invective. That reflects less on them than on the tragedy of American political culture today.

A political culture which presents anything promoted by Progressives as pure; and anything recommended by Republicans as evil incarnate…not to mention intended to harm children, destroy the environment, force women into back-alley abortions and cause the elderly to subsist on dog food.

Speaking of war and rumors of war, consider this just in from World Net Daily:

Army of Islam’ Would be World’s Biggest Military

Turkey hints at forming 5-million-strong alliance against Israel

When Turkey’s semi-official newspaper Yeni Safak called for urgent action in forming a 57-nation “Army of Islam” to besiege and attack Israel, a suggestion undoubtedly approved with at least a wink and nod by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, it would signal the possible intent to create the largest military force on the planet – one nearly as large as the total population of the Jewish state.

The report came just ahead of the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and was published under the headline, “What if an Army of Islam was formed against Israel?” It was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

But it wasn’t a rhetorical question. It was actually a suggestion to combine the military forces of all Islamic countries to overwhelm the Israeli army in manpower, budget and equipment – even boasting with statistics…”

Still, Progressives and their Islamic allies would have you believe ISRAEL‘s the problem.  Yeah,…just as Whitey’s what’s been keepin’ the brothers down in urban America.  Remember, whatever Liberals claim to be the crimes of their opposition are really representative of their own sins.  And our money remains on Israel.

We turn now to the Environmental Moment, as Real Climate Science tells us how the Environazis continue to fudge their “facts”:

NOAA Data Tampering Approaching 2.5 Degrees

NOAA’s US temperature record shows that US was warmest in the 1930’s and has generally cooled as CO2 has increased.  This wrecks greenhouse gas theory, so they “adjust” the data to make it look like the US is warming.

The NOAA data tampering produces a spectacular hockey stick of scientific fraud, which becomes the basis of vast amounts of downstream junk climate science. Pre-2000 temperatures are progressively cooled, and post-2000 temperatures are warmed. This year has been a particularly spectacular episode of data tampering by NOAA, as they introduce nearly 2.5 degrees of fake warming since 1895.

Most of these adjustments are due to simply making up data.  Every month, a certain percentage of the 1,218 United States Historical Climatology Network (USHCN) stations fail to report their data, and the temperature gets estimated by NOAA using a computer model. Missing data is marked in the USHCN database with an “E” – meaning “estimated.” In 1970, about 10% of the data was missing, but that number has increased to almost 50%, meaning that almost half of the current adjusted data is fake.

The fabricated temperatures have warmed four degrees since 1970, relative to the adjusted temperatures which were based on actual station data. This shows that the warming trend in the US claimed by NOAA is based on computer models, not actual thermometer data or even adjusted thermometer data.

But here is the real smoking gun of fraud by NOAA. The adjustments being made almost perfectly match atmospheric CO2 levels – showing that the data is being altered precisely to match global warming theory.

Science doesn’t get any worse than how NOAA handles US temperature data…”

“Junk science”, on the other hand, doesn’t get any better.  And given the amount of hot air coming out of the climate lobby in recent years, that’s saying something!

Which brings us to The Lighter Side:

Finally, in New You Can’t Use, FOX News informs us…

Erotic model and sexologist claims nude jogging and skinny-dipping in cold water is key to looking young

“…Every Sunday, Ukrainian Inna Vladimirskaya, 32, often joined by her husband, removes all clothes and goes for a run along the banks of the Dnieper River, one of the coldest in Europe. She follows up her exercise routine with a plunge into the icy water, which reaches temperatures around 15 degrees Fahrenheit…”

We’re gonna go way out on a limb here and suggest Ms. Vladimirskaya’s youthful appearance has far more to do with her age than her highly improbable beauty regimen!
