“A majority of “non-citizens,” including those with legal green card rights, are tapping into welfare programs set up to help poor and ailing Americans, a Census Bureau finding that bolsters President Trump’s concern about immigrants costing the nation.
In a new analysis of the latest numbers, from 2014, 63 percent of non-citizens are using a welfare program, and it grows to 70 percent for those here 10 years or more,confirming another concern that once immigrants tap into welfare, they don’t get off it.
The Center for Immigration Studies said in its report that the numbers give support for Trump’s plan to cut non-citizens off welfare from the “public charge” if they want a green card that allows them to legally work in the United States.
…“Concern over immigrant welfare use is justified, as households headed by non-citizens use means-tested welfare at high rates. Non-citizens in the data include illegal immigrants, long-term temporary visitors like guest workers, and permanent residents who have not naturalized. “Robert Mueller looks to be approaching his endgame, and the press is alive with speculation as to how bad the special counsel’s report will be for President Trump. It’s also worth noticing how good Mr. Mueller has been to another president, Barack Obama, and his team.
This benevolence was on display in the sentencing document the special counsel’s office filed on Tuesday for Mike Flynn.The former Trump national security adviser, we are told, has provided “substantial assistance,” sitting for 19 interviews that aided in “several ongoing investigations.” In light of this help, the Mueller team recommends leniency—perhaps even sparing him prison time.
…But what about the potential crimes that put Mr. Flynn in Mr. Mueller’s crosshairs to begin with?On Jan. 2, 2017, the Obama White House learned about Mr. Flynn’s conversations with Mr. Kislyak. The U.S. monitors phone calls of foreign officials, but under law they are supposed to “minimize” the names of any Americans caught up in such eavesdropping. In the Flynn case, someone in the prior administration either failed to minimize or purposely “unmasked” Mr. Flynn. The latter could itself be a felony.
Ten days later someone in that administration leaked to the Washington Post that Mr. Flynn had called Mr. Kislyak on Dec. 29, 2016. On Feb. 9, 2017, someone leaked to the Post and the New York Times highly detailed and classified information about the Flynn-Kislyak conversation.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes has called this leak the most destructive to national security that he seen in his time in Washington.Disclosing classified information is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in federal prison. The Post has bragged that its story was sourced by nine separate officials.
The Mueller team has justified its legal wanderings into money laundering (Paul Manafort) and campaign contributions (Michael Cohen) on grounds that it has an obligation to follow up on any evidence of crimes, no matter how disconnected from its Russia mandate.Mr. Flynn’s being caught up in the probe is related to a glaring potential crime of disclosing classified material, yet Mr. Mueller appears to have undertaken no investigation of that. Is this selective justice, or something worse? Don’t forget Mr. Mueller stacked his team with Democrats, some of whom worked at the highest levels of the Obama administration, including at the time of the possible Flynn unmasking and the first leak.

But he doesn’t, which is why this entire affair isn’t an investigation, but a bi-partisan farce solely intended to take down Trump; not through impeachment or any other lawful means, but through rumor, misrepresentation and innuendo.

In a nutshell, what could go wrong with an armored thrust 60 miles up a single, narrow two-lane road hoping to tie up with the largest airborne operation in history intended to cross the Rhine by taking and holding numerous bridges with light infantry weapons against armored opposition until relieved?!?
In one of our favorites scenes, involving some of our favorite actors (including Jeremy Kemp, notable if nor nothing else than his role in The Blue Max, which would have been so much better without George Peppard, who was possessed of a Kevin-Costner like inability to feign a foreign accent!), Polish General Sosabowski, portrayed by Gene Hackman, questions the loyalty of an RAF officer, played by Kemp, who’s more concerned with saving airframes than the lives of paratroopers and success of the mission:

“Bernie Sanders is so concerned about climate change that he spent nearly $300,000 on private air travel in October so he could speak to audiences in nine battleground states prior to November’s midterm elections.
…Sanders’ 2018 campaign committee issued an Oct. 10 payment of $297,685 to New York-based Apollo Jets, a charter jet company used by retired sports stars Derek Jeter and Shaquille O’Neal, according to federal campaign reports obtained by VTDigger.org, a watchdog news site in Vermont.
The Sanders campaign purchased nearly $5,000 in carbon offsets to balance out the emissions produced from the travel. A carbon offset is a reduction in emissions to compensate for emissions elsewhere…”
Actually, for those not familiar with the terminology of the anthropogenic global warming scam, the theory is, when you buy an offset, you fund projects which (theoretically) reduce greenhouse gasses; such as projects which might restore rainforests, might update power plants and factories or might increase the energy efficiency of buildings and transportation.
See, carbon offsets let you pay to reduce potential greenhouse emissions through the potential efforts of others while not making radical or inconvenient reductions on your own.
As Hamlet noted, here’s the rub: carbon offsets are voluntary. Thus, it’s difficult to judge the quality of either offset providers or projects. Trees don’t always live a full life, sequestration projects (see “Solyndra“) sometimes fail and offset companies occasionally deceive their customers. (After all, aren’t ALL corporations evil by definition?!?)
In reality, far from making any meaningful contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gasses, carbon offsets are just a means by which Limousine Liberals can own multiple mansions, drive gas-guzzling SUVs and travel via private jets, yet still convince themselves they’re committed to saving the planet and sleep well at night.
In other words, carbon offsets raise awareness of greenhouse gasses with the unwashed masses without impacting the ability of the rich and famous to enjoy the lifestyle thereof.
Though if the recent riots in France are any indication…
…the unwashed masses ain’t buyin’ it!
