It’s Friday, July 10th, 2020…but before we begin, two videos which expose two of the harsh truths behind the fables The Left continues to foist upon America.  First, courtesy of Mark Foster, one Iyanla correctly identifies the primary source of the problems plaguing the Black community…and a significant portion of the rest of America:

Second, Bill Meisen forwarded this clip from Family Guy which highlights how, in reality, Black lives really don’t matter…

…unless those taking them are White.

Now, here’s The Gouge!

While violence plagues America’s urban centers, rather than go after murderers, arsonists and looters, here’s what’s attracting the attention of prosecutors.

Case #1: George Soros-backed Contra Costa County DA Diana Becton…

…opts to unequally enforce the law as…

California pair charged with hate crime after Black Lives Matter mural cover-up

We must address the root and byproduct of systemic racism in our country. The Black Lives Matter movement is an important civil rights cause that deserves all of our attention,” Contra Costa County DA Diana Becton said, according to the statement. “We must continue to elevate discussions and actually listen to one another in an effort to heal our community and country.

“Actually listen to one another”: so painting “Black Lives Matter” on a public thoroughfare is permitted speech deserving of debate, while covering it up is a hate crime, hence a viewpoint unworthy of consideration.

Case #2: Fellow Yalie G. Trevor noted that…

Amid Raging Violence, Here’s What NYC Prosecutor Cy Vance Thinks Is Important Right Now

Like many major cities across the country, New York seems to be under siege as a vicious uptick in violent crime has set in following weeks of protests, riots, and looting by Black Lives Matter and other far-left groups. More than 60 people were shot just over Fourth of July weekend, raising alarms for NYPD, currently facing a $1 billion budget cut that was approved by the great majority of elected leaders.

But Cy Vance has apparently been too busy forming a criminal charge against a woman who called 911 to report that she was being threatened by an African American man in Central Park last month. Amy Cooper called the emergency number when she felt threatened by a bird watcher who confronted her for having her dog off a leash. The man, who is black, admitted that he told Cooper he was going to call her dog over to him and that she “wouldn’t like it.”

Cooper was then filmed by the man making the 911 call and emotionally telling the operator that she was being harassed and threatened by an African American man. That video went viral and people slammed Cooper for potentially putting the black man at risk for police brutality by placing the phone call. In no time, the cancel mob had stripped Cooper of her job, her reputation, and even her dog. She later apologized for placing the call, saying she misunderstood the intentions of the man who confronted her in the park.

Now she also faces criminal charges for placing that call. Cy Vance filed charges against Cooper on Monday for filing a false police report…”

To his credit, Christian Cooper, the bird-watcher Amy Cooper felt was threatening, is refusing to cooperate with Vance’s vendetta, noting, “she’s already paid a steep price”, and, “if the DA feels the need to pursue charges, he should pursue charges. But he can do that without me.”

Any chance the subject of this item from The Daily Caller, also forwarded by Mr. Meisen, will face similar charges?

Oregon Politician Said He Received Racist Letter, Admits He Wrote It Himself

Okay, it was a rhetorical question.

Oh, and now that the U.S. has hit three million confirmed cases of the Wuhan virus, we’ve only some 60,000,000 more cases to go before we reach the number of Americans who suffered from the Swine flu back in 2009.  You know, when over 550,000 people died worldwide…and we didn’t shutter a single school or business, nor was a single individual forced to wear a mask.  2009 must have been an election year…with an Republican President running for reelection, let alone Donald Trump!

Since we’re on subject of the utter lack of standards The Left displays in its dealings with The Donald, the WSJ‘s Holman Jenkins offers his thoughts regarding…

The Press on Mount Rushmore

When Donald Trump is gone and forgotten, the media’s lies won’t be so easy to forget.

Every American, regardless of how he or she feels about Donald Trump, should read his July 3 speech at Mount Rushmore and then the Washington Post account of the speech by Robert Costa and Philip Rucker. The Post account begins:

“President Trump’s unyielding push to preserve Confederate symbols and the legacy of white domination, crystallized by his harsh denunciation of the racial justice movement Friday night at Mount Rushmore…”

Except that Mr. Trump made no reference to the Confederacy or any of its symbols. His only reference to the Civil War was to Abraham Lincoln and the abolition of slavery as a fulfillment of the American Revolution.

Sen. Tammy Duckworth, as many commentators on the right noted, also lied when she said Mr. Trump “spent all his time talking about dead traitors.” He mentioned not a single leader or champion of the Confederacy.

In its own account, though hardly friendly to Mr. Trump, the New York Times went out of its way to counter these rampant distortions, reporting that Mr. Trump “avoided references…to the symbols of the Confederacy that have been a target of many protests.”

A day later, when he unleashed his uninformed Twitter rant about Nascar’s misconstrued noose incident and an unexplained “flag” reference possibly related to its ban on Confederate symbols, the Times again noted of Mr. Trump’s holiday speech, “In that address he avoided specifically mentioning anything related to Confederate monuments.”

Which I’m guessing means that Trump-defending pundits aren’t the only ones troubled by the Rubicon we’ve crossed when mainstream press outlets and a U.S. senator flagrantly lie about the content of a presidential address…”

Which provides further proof if The Left and its MSM myrmidons didn’t have double standards…

…they’d have no standards at all.

If Team Trump has the faintest clue, all of this will come back to haunt Groper Joe in the form of campaign ads in key battleground states.  And they won’t even have to embellish the truth of what was said.

Speaking of ready made campaign ads here’s two, the first of which will be certain to energize Trump’s existing evangelical base…

…while the second will certainly add to the concern of undecideds as regards the Groper’s increasingly tenuous grasp on reality:

Meanwhile, as The Washington Free Beacon reports, Trump couldn’t be happier as Progressives keep moving lefter and lefter, as the…

Squad’ Backs Bill to Gut Police, End Prisons

Police reform bill would disband DEA and ICE, close federal prisons, legalize border crossings

Two leading progressive House Democrats on Tuesday endorsed a proposal to radically overhaul the criminal justice system by dismantling policing and incarceration in the United States.

Reps. Ayanna Pressley (D., Mass.) and Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.), both known as members of the House’s uber-progressive “squad,” backed the BREATHE Act, legislation that would strip federal law enforcement to the bone, disband the DEA and ICE, end federal funding for police, and “develop a time-bound plan to close all federal prisons.”

The bill would also, an official summary states, funnel unspecified amounts of federal money into massive new grant programs, which would be spent on priorities like school curricula on “colonialism,” pilot programs for a universal basic income, and reparations for prostitutes.

No official language for the BREATHE Act yet exists, and the proposal is unlikely to be passed wholesale into law. Pressley and Tlaib’s support, however, signals that the Democrats’ progressive wing is unsatisfied with the police reforms being pushed by their more moderate colleagues and would prefer a more radical overhaul. That vision in turn has a good chance at influencing 2020 contender Joe Biden and the Democratic Party’s platform, due to be set next month…”

Next up, in the interests of fairness, we need to call Townhall.com‘s Katie Pavlich out for this manifestly misleading headline:

Biden Says Police Have ‘Become the Enemy,’ ‘Absolutely’ Should Defund Them

Here’s what Groper Joe actually said: not that police “have become the enemy”…

…but rather, if they arrive in an urban environment in armored vehicles, “they become the enemy”.  While we still don’t agree with the accuracy of his statement, words have meaning, and Katie’s don’t accurately convey Biden’s thoughts.

Besides, it’s not like the demented Delawarean doesn’t provide enough fodder with his agreement to defund…

…the police.

And for those concerned the SCOTUS decision on Trump’s tax returns may influence the November election, this commentary by the WSJ’s Kim Strassel should ease your mind.

Which brings us, appropriately enough, to The Lighter Side:

Then there’s this from Walt Meisen…

…another from Jeff Foutch…

…along with this string from Balls Cotton…

…as well as this series of Ghislaine-related memes from James Woods’ Twitter account via James Nichols…

…and lastly, our thought on the subject: Without wishing her ill…

Finally, we’ll call it a week with yet another titillating tale torn from the pages of The Crime Blotter, courtesy today of a pair of drunken Ducks, as an…

Oregon man driving stolen car crashes into woman driving another stolen car

“…The debacle took place Monday when police responded to a report of a stolen Toyota Land Cruiser driving through downtown Newberg, according to the Newberg-Dundee police. A pursuit ensued, and lasted for several blocks until the driver crashed into another car near an intersection. Cops identified the driver of the first car as Randy Lee Cooper of Portland.

After taking Cooper into custody, the police realized that the second car was also reported stolen in an unrelated crime three weeks ago. The driver of that car, Kristin Nicole Begue, was also found to be under the influence…”

They both were under the influence, alright: of stupidity

Magoo

P.S.  We may or may not be taking Monday off, so, potentially, ’til Wednesday…
