And in today’s Cover Story, evidence confirming Progressives continue to follow the blueprint established by Cloward, Piven and Alinsky in every misguided policy they promote.

Exhibit “A”: writing at American Thinker, Doug Mainwaring explores the strategy behind the Left’s latest victory in the war for America’s morals:

Same Sex Marriage: ‘Thoroughly Tiresome,’ by Design

Published in 1989, After the Ball is a seminal work which laid out a comprehensive plan to establish the “normalcy” of gays and lesbians and secure broader acceptance and rights. It is subtitled, How America Will conquer Its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the 90s. The manifesto was laid out by a pair of Harvard graduates. Marshall Kirk (class of 1980) became a researcher in neuropsychiatry. Hunter Madsen (class of 1985) received his degree in Politics and went on to work on Madison Avenue and become an expert in public persuasion tactics and social marketing.

Today, twenty-five years after its publication, what is most striking about their work is this: Their ambitious plan, with a few verb tense changes, could be repackaged and sold as a History book, presenting a very accurate picture of what we have all witnessed happening over the last quarter century. Perhaps the only aspect of the plan that can be faulted just a little is its timeline. It took twenty five years, not ten, to achieve its goals. Not bad. Still an A+.

American folklore tells us that a young Yale student named Fred Smith penned a paper for an economics class in the early 1960’s outlining an overnight delivery service for the computer information age. That paper, rumored to have received a C+, became FedEx.

The success of the plan laid out in After the Ball parallels that of FedEx, only it was not a business plan; it was a wildly successful social psychology/marketing plan. And it has changed American society every bit as much as FedEx has, and in the long run, probably far more…

Warmist Phil Plait: You Can’t Just Sway People With Facts

Jackwebbbbigseptemberman

“Anything but the facts, ma’am!”

“…That’s why the American Association for the Advancement of Science—the world’s largest general science society—has put together a public information campaign called “What We Know.” The motivation behind it is not so much to be a compendium of facts, but instead to “present key messages for every American about climate change” as a way to hopefully show people the reality of what we’re doing to the Earth.

I think the idea behind the campaign is a good one. The problem right now isn’t any scientific debate or controversy, for there isn’t one. Virtually all the doubt and arguing are being instigated by politically motivated groups and do not exist among actual climate scientists. Getting this across to the public is a crucial step in ousting head-in-the-sand politicians and marginalizing the denial groups that are massively overrepresented in the media.

The next thing to do is to put together videos and Web pages that have more humanity to them, more emotion. If you want to sway people, then you can’t just throw facts at them; those will reflect off them and fall away. We know this (for a fact, oddly enough). If the AAAS wants to change the public’s mind on this issue, it will have to connect with their hearts

As another adherent of Socialism once said:

What matters is not what is true or false, but exclusively what is believed” – General Nagel, economics branch of the OKW.

The “science” of anthropogenic global warming (the very term had to be morphed to climate change in the face of the facts!) is as much a laughing stock as The Obamao’s foreign policy, but one thing is certain: its devoted disciples will never give up the fight. Like the Terminator, the Environazis are out there…

But if you find the Environazis scary…which you should, next up, courtesy of the WSJ, Steve Cohen offers what should be, at least to anyone with an ounce of sense, a truly terrifying tale:

America’s Incredible Shrinking Navy

Only 35% of the U.S. Navy’s entire fleet is deployed, fewer than 100 ships, including just three aircraft carriers.

Barack-Obama-Sailor-in-Row-Boat--71322

Americans may be war-weary after Iraq and Afghanistan. But the world is still a hostile place, and the U.S.Navy is stretched too thin. And in a new sleight of hand, the Obama administration has changed what it considers a warship when reporting the size of the Navy’s “battle force.” From now on it will include the two hospital ships, Mercy and Comfort, 10 small coastal patrol vessels and a high-speed transport. Add those, subtract a few minesweepers, and voilà—the Navy fleet has grown to 293 from 283 ships.

Most of the new additions are lightly armed coastal-patrol craft and not true oceangoing ships. Originally designed to carry Navy SEALs and other special-operations forces, these 179-foot ships turned out to be inadequate for that role. Instead, armed with machine guns, they can be used to support “low intensity conflicts.” They were launched in the early 1990s and recalled in 2010 to deal with fatigue damage to their hulls. Their military role is questionable and they’re well past their expiration date, yet they sail on for public-relations purposes.

Outboard on table

The Navy takes great pride in its humanitarian relief work, and its recruiting commercials feature photos of tsunami and earthquake survivors receiving food, water and medical care delivered by aircraft carriers, amphibious command ships, and of course, the two hospital ships. Such soft power diplomacy is an essential part of our foreign-policy strategy.

But substituting hospital ships, a former car ferry (which the Navy itself refers to as a noncombatant) and over-the-hill coastal craft for capital ships is delusional when calculating the battle force. So is the boast that the U.S. Navy has an 11 aircraft-carrier fleet…

And Влади́мир Влади́мирович Пу́тин…

But hey, what’s more important; a fleet of unassailable superiority to project U.S. power and maintain maritime security…

…or the ability of the LGBT “community” to freely express their feelings and sexuality?

No question on which side these two enormous bags of traitorous douche come down:

YO! Mike…Martee!

And when he’s not otherwise engaged eviscerating America’s Military or sending his family on another taxpayer-funded vacation, Der Obafuhrer’s busy misdirecting federal funds into his other pet projects, as detailed in the latest installment of Hope ‘n Change:

Mooned

Mooned

As philosopher and astrophysicist Yogi Berra once said, “The future ain’t what it used to be.”

NASA, which used to do interesting things like, oh, building rockets and putting men on the freaking moon has seen a significant change in its goals and activities under Barack Hussein Obama. Back in 2010, it was revealed that the president told the new head of NASA that their “foremost mission” was outreach to Muslims “to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science and math and engineering.” Not to mention their tremendous advances in kinetic building demolition.

obamanasa-e1278620313534

But now, the government has bizarrely asked NASA to determine what could possibly cause the complete and utter destruction of our civilization, wink-wink nudge-nudge, and after spending a vast amount of terrestrial taxpayer dollars, the alleged space agency has come up with an answer: not an asteroid strike, not a massive solar flare, not even an invasion of googly-eyed aliens (from space, that is, as opposed to the googly-eyed aliens who already mow our lawns). Nope, the big intergalactic menace turns out to be income inequality and inefficient use of our natural resources!

Frankly, Hope n’ Change is more than a little confused about what any of this has to do with NASA. The president could be ordering them to invent a satellite capable of finding missing jets, or tracking incoming Russian missiles.” But nooOOoooo.

NASA is now only in the business of advancing Barack Obama’s political pronouncements and goals. Next, they’ll probably claim that they’ve found evidence that the universe was formed when God said “Yes We Can.” NASA is now utterly incapable of putting a man on the moon, but our government shows no limitation in its ability (and willingness) to moon the rest of us.

LeaderSm

Which begs the question why, if this is how they spend our hard-earned money, and in the face of increasingly successful private sector efforts to conquer space, we need NASA at all?!?
