It’s Friday, July 12th, 2019…but before we begin this unexpected edition of The Daily Gouge (we were headed out of town when our flight was cancelled literally as we left for the airport), here are two cartoons which exemplify the perverse politics of contemporary Progressivism:

Though we shouldn’t forget their utterly idiotic embrace of male athletes competing…

as femalessaid male athletes possession of male genitalia and the accompanying significantly higher levels of testosterone notwithstanding.  So much for truly being “pro-woman”!

(Hat tip to Jeff Foutch for the depiction of San Francisco’s avid embrace of public defecation and heroin addiction, while banning e-cigarettes.)

In a related item, NRO‘s Jack Crowe reveals how…

Pelosi Advises Illegal Immigrants on How to Avoid ICE

Just so we understand: somehow, someway, House Dimocrats still believe there’s meat on the obstruction bone they continue to desperately clench between their Trump-hating teeth

House Judiciary Committee Votes to Authorize Subpoenas for a Dozen Trump Admin. Officials

…while the Speaker of the House publicly advises illegal aliens…i.e., those who are in criminal violation of American law…how to evade federal agents seeking to enforce same.

So,…explain to us again who’s obstructing justice?!?

Now, here’s The Gouge!

First up, courtesy of Bill Meisen, FOX News. tells us how…

AOC ups ante in feud with Pelosi, suggests speaker is ‘singling out’ newly elected ‘women of color

Echoing Mr. Meisen’s comment, can it not have occurred to Nancy where AOC & Company ever got the crazy notion criticism, legitimate or not, of a colored person constituted racism?  Sure, she’s one of the dimmest bulbs on the planet, but surely she realizes the chickens she did SO much to raise are finally coming home to roost.  Then again…

…maybe not.

For more on the revolt the House Dimocratic leadership is striving to suppress, we offer the latest from the WSJ’s Kim Strassel.

Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi isn’t the only Progressive pillar feeling heat, as FOX News reports that…

CNN is mired in a credibility crisis as ratings continue to collapse

We know it’s hard to believe a cable news network whose star anchors make their fictional male model and newsman counterparts seem like MENSA candidates by comparison…

…could be facing a credibility crisis, but…

Since we’re on the subject of gays in decline, as The Guardian details…

Number of people believing there is nothing wrong with gay sex has fallen, survey finds

This poll is intriguing on a number of levels, but we particularly wish it had gone into more detail regarding the views of those who expressed a declining acceptance of gays.

For example, does their “decline in the ‘acceptance’ of gay sex” mean they are homophobic (or, to be far more accurate, homo-hating)…or simply tired of having the radical LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ agenda shoved in their faces every single daytired of MSM and sports broadcasters constantly making manufactured gay “firsts” the center of every possible storytired of people pretending mentally-ill males should be allowed to compete in sporting events as females.

You know…actual in-depth analysis.

By the way, if you’re up for listening to Ben Shapiro totally destroy a lesbian radical on the relative merits of men’s and women’s sports in front of her class at NYU, give a listen to the following:

And “destroy” is too kind a term.

Then there’s this warning of taxes to come courtesy of Balls Cotton and Philip DeMuth writing at the WSJ:

Congress Is Coming for Your IRA

The Secure Act would upend 20 years of retirement planning and stick it to the middle class.

Like grave robbers opening King Tut’s tomb, Congress can’t wait to get its hands on America’s retirement-account assets. The House passed the Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement Act, known by the acronym SECURE, in May. The vote was 417-3. The Secure Act is widely expected to pass the Senate by unanimous consent. While ostensibly helping Americans save for retirement, the bill would actually reduce the value of all retirement savings plans: individual retirement accounts, 401(k)s, Roth IRAs, the works…”

Color us jaded, but when Congress entitles a bill “SECURE”, it’s bound to be anything but!  And when either chamber, let alone both, passes a bill this popular, it generally serves the needs of those voting to pass it rather than them who’re going to pay for it!

As the Gipper said, the…

Which brings us, appropriately enough, to The Lighter Side:

Then again, you don’t need a drink in your hand to be cool…

…when you’re sh*t hot! 😉

Magoo

P.S. We’ll be out of town at a wedding through Sunday evening, so ’til Wednesday…
