It’s Monday, November 15th, 2021…but before we begin, in a departure from normal convention, we offer yet another titillating tale torn from the pages of The Crime Blotter, courtesy today of one Arielle Jackson, who Dallas police say is the…

Woman Arrested After Assaulting Southwest Flight Attendant

“…At approximately 12:40 p.m. Nov. 13, officials say Arielle Jean Jackson boarded Flight 4976 with scheduled service from Dallas Love Field to La Guardia. Upon boarding the plane, Jackson reportedly “went straight to the back” where she had a verbal altercation with a flight attendant who instructed her to leave the plane.

Officials said Jackson then went to the front of the plane where she had verbal altercation with another flight attendant before hitting her with “a closed fist to the head.” Jackson was shortly arrested for aggravated assault and taken into custody at the Dallas County Jail.

Southwest said the flight attendant was taken to a local hospital and that she has the airline’s full support…”

Here’s the juice: Anti-social behavior that goes unpunished is effectively encouraged, and there have been a growing number of violent events on commercial flights, particularly over the course of the scamdemic…

…with no apparent or publicized consequences suffered by the criminals who committed them.  And criminals they are, as HG.org highlights:

Title 49 U.S.C.A. § 46504 (formerly 49 U.S.C.A. App. § 1472(j)), provides:

An individual on an aircraft in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States who, by assaulting or intimidating a flight crewmember or flight attendant of the aircraft, interferes with the performance of the duties of the member or attendant or lessens the ability of the member or attendant to perform those duties, or attempts or conspires to do such an act, shall be guilty of the federal crime of interfering with flight crew members and attendants.

The statute provides that if convicted, an offender “shall be fined, imprisoned for not more than 20 years, or both.” However, if a dangerous weapon is used in assaulting or intimidating the victim, the penalty shall be “imprisonment for any term of years or for life.

We can’t recall anyone who refused to obey instructions from a flight attendant, let alone individuals who assaulted one, ever serving significant time or being assessed a meaningful fine.

Perhaps Ms. Jackson was inspired by the recent incident at the youth basketball tournament in Garden Grove, CA, when the 15-year-old daughter of former NBA player Corey Benjamin (As noted racist and anti-Semite Ilhan Omar tweeted, it’s ALL about the Benjamins, baby!) delivered an unprovoked sucker punch to a girl half her size and weight.

Turns out, as the article linked above tells us, this wasn’t the first or even second time young Ms. Benjamin struck an opponent, but the third.  Again, anti-social behavior that goes unpunished is encouraged.

No word on whether Benjamin’s mother also inspired her first two attacks.

Now, here’s The Gouge!

First up, NRO‘s Charlie Cooke takes us on a trip down the rabbit hole to meet…

Biden in Wonderland

No matter how strenuously it insists that down is up and up is down, the White House can’t pretend away the spiraling crises before our eyes.

If I had a world of my own,” said Alice, “everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrariwise, what it is, it wouldn’t be, and what it wouldn’t be, it would. You see?”

Rumor has it that Alice is preparing to apply for a job in the White House press office.

And not a moment too soon, either, for, having offered himself up as the savior of the American way, President Biden now finds himself in something of a pickle. The jobs reports are lackluster. The border is a mess. Gas prices are sky-high. Our supply chains are broken. Inflation, which was supposed to be “transitory,” looks more persistent by the day. Americans remain stranded in Afghanistan. China’s testing space-nukes. COVID is not only still with us; it’s making its way into the Good States. And, despite its having been given a jolly, catchy name — the “Build Back Better agenda” — all the public seems to know about the president’s gargantuan spending plan is that it will cost trillions upon trillions of dollars.

Down the rabbit hole, though, everything is still peachy. Indeed, insofar as America has any problems to speak of, they’re held to be either non-existent, inconsequential, or somehow your fault

It’s so devilishly clever, in fact — and so terribly simple to boot — that one can’t help but wonder why it hadn’t been thought of until now. All one must do to achieve the effect is respond to any criticisms whatsoever with an emphatic, “No, you absolute rotter, that isn’t happening at all; and if it is happening, it’s not too bad, really; and if it is bad, it won’t be bad for long; and if it is bad for long, well, that’ll be your fault.” Then, having handily dispatched one’s enemies, one can simply move on to the next objection, which, yes, might be based on things that people are actually seeing, but which is equally ill-founded, for reasons that will be decided upon by Twitter within the next few days.

Alice, she says, is able to believe “six impossible things before breakfast.” Looks as if she’ll get the job.

What’s most striking about Cooke’s commentary is it was written back on October 19th, and the disinformation campaign being waged by the White House and its MSM shills has not only continued, but intensified, as have the seriousness of the problems 46* has created for the country.

It’s as Jesse Watters says:

Or, more precisely, what Jordan Peterson avers:

Here’s the juice: At some point, one has to consider the probability…not possibility, but probability…the destruction of America begun under Obama and which is continuing under Biden is deliberate.  That, and the fact the Allstate mayhem commercials …

…were based on the peculiar personal proclivities of…

…The Groper.  Though, if history is any guide, it’s evident 46* prefers them a little younger than Tina Fey.

History Will Grind Out the Truth

“History will figure that out on its own.” That is what Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) recently replied to Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. In a heated congressional exchange, Fauci derided the idea that the COVID-19 pandemic was due to the leak of a dangerous virus, engineered in the Chinese Wuhan virology lab—and in part funded by U.S. health agencies, on the prompt of Fauci himself.

Fauci offered arguments from authority by citing his own expertise, as well as that of “card-carrying” specialists. But in truth, there is little evidence that any animal species has been found infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus or a close relative that causes COVID-19 or a similar illness. Many federal health experts increasingly believe the virus was man-made. A number argue that it was likely a product of gain-of-function research that was funded in part by a U.S. government grant.

Others concede that Fauci and Dr. Peter Daszak—who was involved in gain-of-function research, often in cooperation with the Chinese—were not candid about the full extent of their ties to the Wuhan lab. But despite Chinese resistance to releasing pertinent data, history eventually will sort the truth out—as it does with most controversies of the moment.

Five years ago, the New York Times, the Washington Post, most of the mainstream media, and the majority of the bipartisan Washington, D.C. political and government establishments insisted that Donald Trump had colluded with Russia to rig the 2016 electionFive years later, history has almost sorted out the fable that the most powerful, wealthy, and influential Americans in the nation once foisted upon the public.

Special prosecutor John Durham seems to be slowly indicting the promulgators of the hoax. The earlier lengthy internal audit by Inspector General Michael Horowitz cited wrongdoing on the part of the Department of Justice and FBI.

The Mueller investigation failed to find any proof of Russian-Trump collusion. The 2018 majority report of the House Intelligence Committee came to the same conclusion. The admission of false statements by former FBI interim director Andrew McCabe, along with the felonious altering of a court document by FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, were other elements of the warped and unprofessional behavior of the FBI.

Both Mueller and former FBI Director James Comey were unable to answer fundamental questions while under oath about the dossier and the role of its authors in spreading the collusion hoax. Mueller’s legal team and Comey himself habitually leaked rumors that fed the collusion hoaxHistory, however, is slowly sorting it outdespite the approved narrative of the well-connected who misled the country to pursue their own political agendas.

Someday historians of public health will unravel the full costs of locking down most of America in reaction (rather, gross overreaction!) to the COVID-19 pandemic (SCAMdemic!). What are now near-taboo topics—the vigorous natural immunity offered from prior infection, and the terrible damage done by the quarantines—earn cancel culture damnation, employment suspension, and media calumny. But soon they likely will become matter-of-factly accepted as truth

The same will be said of the hysterical myths that surround the unfortunate January 6 riot at the Capitol. Five years from now history will show that there was no conspiracy, no pre-planned “insurrection”—as the FBI has already concludedThe late Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick was not murdered as was alleged. Those “armed” inside the Capitol did not carry—much less use—guns. The one violent death, that of Ashli Babbitt, was of an unarmed female who was lethally shot by an officer for attempting to enter through a broken windowThe solitary confinement, indefinite incarceration, and inhumane jail conditions accorded some of the accused will be shown contrary to the Constitution of the United States of America

In other words, history eventually will sort it all out.

Or as the second-century A.D. skeptic philosopher Sextus Empricus noted, eventually the truth emerges and cosmic justice is rendered: “The millstones of the gods grind late, but they grind fine.”

While we fully appreciate and agree with VDH’s point, the outcome he predicts depends upon, in the best traditions of 1984, who writes the history.  Or, perhaps more accurately, who rewrites the history.

Moving on, we offer a sextet of specially-selected items certain to pique the interest of inquiring Conservative minds…like yours:

(1). Reuters is reporting Austria is placing millions of people not fully vaccinated against the coronavirus in lockdown as of Monday to deal with a surge in infections to record levels and the growing strain on intensive-care units.  Reports the Vienna government is bringing back a once-common symbol to aid in identifying the unvaccinated…

…remain unconfirmed.

(2). Though, as this report from The Epoch Times indicates, the Department of Defense claims it will respond to Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt after his state’s National Guard suggested it would reject a Pentagon COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all service members, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby would not…or could notelaborate on the nature of the DOD response, seeing how the Oklahoma National Guard reports to the…governor of Oklahoma.

(3). In a forward from Keith Calcote, the WSJ‘s Holman Jenkins relates how, “Since Joe Biden met with Vladimir Putin on behalf of the American people, Russian ransomware attacks have only worsened, the Kremlin coerces our European friends over energy supplies, menaces Ukraine with renewed invasion, backs its client Belarus to interfere with international civil aviation to kidnap a dissident, and now encourages Belarus to threaten Europe with a migrant crisis-cum-border war.”

In other words, 46* is inflicting as much harm abroad as he is at home!

(4). Rich Lowry reminds us the experience of the last Democratic president who presided over a significant bout of inflation wasn’t a happy one, and if the Biden White House isn’t haunted by that precedent, it isn’t paying attention.

(5). Courtesy of The Texan via Bill Jarnagin, we learn a newly announced free speech-focused University of Austin has received over 3,000 inquiries from academics seeking employment or involvement in just four days, as well as overwhelming interest from prospective students.

(6). As NRO‘s Kevin Williamson reports from Glasgow, the COP26 “has very little to do with climate, but is rather…

in the main a trade show for sophomoric identity politics.”

Which brings us, appropriately enough, to The Lighter Side:

Then there’s these from Balls Cotton…

…and Rick Page…

…along with four bon mots from Ed Hickey:

Okay, Westminster Abbey, not the Vatican.
