It’s Friday, December 17th, 2021…but before we begin, allow us to present a meme from Ed Hickey which, in our opinion, perfectly portrays the pointlessness and completely counterproductive nature of our government’s response (begun, we must remind diehard Trumpeteers, by The Donald) to the WuFlu:

Writing at Best of the Web, Jim Freeman relates the sad story of a Bellingham, WA physician who, when the scamdemic started, believed it would prove a calamity for her patients whose preexisting health conditions rendered them particularly vulnerable.  “She was right, but not for the reasons she thought:

“…In the end, the pandemic’s worst victims weren’t those who had worried her most in the spring of 2020. And they weren’t sickened by Covid-19 itself.

The biggest impact, which became clear only this year, came instead from other health problems that worsened amid the loneliness and stress (artificially created by our government) of the pandemic.

A young girl developed crippling anxiety and compulsive behaviors, sometimes refusing to leave the house. A 65-year-old with schizoaffective disorder stopped taking his medication and had a series of run-ins with police that got him committed to a residential facility. A frail, homebound woman lost her caregiver and couldn’t find a replacement.

So far in 2021, Dr. Hancock has seen more than three times as many deaths among her patients as she did in all of 2020, and none have been from Covid-19…”

All of which makes the anagram Marybeth Poulton recently revealed to us all the more believable…

…and the position of those who continue to refuse the vaccine…

…all the more understandable.

Just sayin’.

And now, here’s The Gouge!

Biden’s Many, Many Wrong Assumptions

A Presidency Built Upon Erroneous Assumptions

If Biden administration officials find themselves in a morose mood as 2021 comes to a close, the holiday season will hopefully give them ample time to stare out the window and contemplate how so much went so wrong and what to do about it. Hopefully, they will come to accept that their system of beliefs about how the world operates proved to be inaccurate in many essential ways.

This happens, to varying degrees, to just about every elected official. They step into office thinking that the country and their state, district, city, or town works a certain way, then eventually reality intrudes, demonstrating that the world and society operate in a much more complicated, interconnected system than they expectedF. A. Hayek summarized it succinctly when he said that, “The curious task of economics is to demonstrate to men how little they really know about what they imagine they can design.”

But this phenomenon extends far beyond economics.

For the totality of his public career, Joe Biden has “known” that problems are solved by spending money. He has been quite explicit about this, repeatedly asserting that caring about an issue or problem is demonstrated by a willingness to spend money; those who do not want to spend more money on a particular issue or problem do not really care about it. He has often cited his father telling him, “Don’t tell me what you value. Show me your budget, and I’ll tell you what you value.” (By that standard, if you aren’t spending a lot on your spouse’s Christmas present, you don’t value your spouse.) (Or, by extension, your daughter if you don’t take out a second mortgage to pay for her wedding!)

It’s as if Biden has never watched the episode of Duck Tales (featured at the top of the page in link #2 as our Video of the Day) where Huey, Dewey, and Louie stumble onto an invention that easily duplicates money — which turns everyone in town into a millionaire. “If it keeps duplicating, it could ruin the economy!” Scrooge McDuck warns. “Don’t you see? If everyone has it, it loses value. Prices will go up, then everyone will have to have more and more money! It will be chaos!” (Which is Socialists/Communists CRAVE!!!) Before long, a newspaper is $200 in Duckburg, a lollipop is $5,000, and bus fare is $10,000.

Unfortunately, Joe Biden stepped into office with a whole slew of erroneous assumptions.

Need we remind you, “assume” makes an “ass” out of “u” and “me”.  And Joe Biden is nothing if not an absolute ass!!!

Is it any wonder a recent poll shows nearly two-thirds of Americans doubt they can trust Biden.  We can’t imagine

why!?!  Though his Cornpop story offered clear and convincing evidence to anyone with the eyes to see and ears to hear…not to mention half a brain.

Speaking of sheer Socialist stupidity, writing at The Washington Free Beacon, Andrew Stiles records the…

Festival of Whites: CNN Sweater Contest Reveals Stunning Lack of Racial Diversity

Also, Where are the MASKS??? We are LITERALLY Shaking Right Now!!!

Soooo…when it comes to CNN, no need asking the question…

Here’s the juice: We’ve never believed any company or organization should be forced to hire anyone based on anything but the skillsets and value an individual brings with them, be they Black, White, Brown, Yellow or Red, male or female, gay or straight. Neither do we believe companies should discriminate in hiring practices, but in the end, the market will determine the advisability of any aspect of employee selection by the one criteria shareholders and ownership value most: profitability.

Colin Kaepernick’s imbecilic assertions notwithstanding, like any business that wants to stay in business, professional sports franchises care about one thing and one thing only: filling positions with the best possible individuals at the lowest possible price, irregardless of said individuals race, color, creed, religion or sexual preference.

Were Kaepernick still possessed of the poise and prowess he displayed in leading the Niners to the Super Bowl, he’d still be in the NFL.  If Michael Sam had the speed, strength and skill to compete as a defensive lineman at the professional level, he’d at least have earned a spot in the CFL.  But neither does, so neither is.  But they still use their respective race and homosexuality as an excuse for their LOFT: Lack of F*#@ing Talent.

In a related item, we learn what happens to anyone who dares to challenge such manufactured narratives, as FOX reports…

Michele Tafoya’s NBC role is changing after Her Kaepernick remarks on ‘The View

“…“She was in the conservative seat,” Simmons said about Tafoya’s “View” appearance, “Then a couple weeks later, all of a sudden, just on a bye [from NBC]. Taking a break.” Tafoya, 56, a native of California, has been with NBC for about a decade after previous stints with CBS and ABC/ESPN. She is the winner of five Emmy Awards for her sports reporting.

On Nov. 3, she and the co-hosts of “The View” had a debate about Kaepernick around the time that Netflix released a special titled “Colin in Black and White.” Tafoya and “View” co-host Sunny Hostin clashed on the show about some comments Kaepernick had made, comparing the NFL’s draft and training camps to slavery.

Tafoya argued that playing in the NFL was an act of free will. “No one pressures them,” she said. “They’re not forced to go into the NFL.” Later, she added, “I thought comparing it to the slave trade was a little rough. These guys enter willingly. They are the most well-cared-for people. Yes, they play a hard sport, and every one of them – Black, White, Latino, whoever’s playing the sport – will tell you how much they love it and they’re willing to do it and they make a damn good living.…”

Thus does a diversity hire run afoul of the Woke by openly observing the absurdity of what Progressives consider as a given.  Michele may never have played football, but there’s no doubt she’s now experienced the the personal pain of a full-contact sport.

Moving on, we offer a sextet of specially selected items intended to pique the interest of inquiring Conservative minds:

(1). Submitted for your perusal are two excellent essays on the January 6th riot at the Capital ,courtesy of Kevin Williamson and Michael Brendan Dougherty.  They both make excellent points, though considering Kevin Clinesmith, the former senior FBI lawyer found guilty of forgery in the Trump-Russia probe has been restored to “good standing” status by the District of Columbia Bar Association despite the convicted felon not having fully completed his probation, we honestly have a hard time sharing their outrage in light of the obvious two-tiered justice system which is the REAL systemic bias facing America.

(2). The WSJ’s Kim Strassel details 46*’s Art of the Overreach, highlighting why Progressives shouldn’t blame Joe Manchin for Joe Biden’s poorly managing expectations.

(3). Rialto, CA City Fire Department Acting Chief Brian Park said that multiple members of his department have been placed on leave pending an investigation due to “troubling video footage” after it was revealed paramedics refused to enter a care center to help a man in cardiac arrest who subsequently died, citing “some COVID-19 law.

(4). In a rare burst of sanity, 46*’s DOJ has reportedly pulled out of settlement talks with illegal immigrant families separated at the border, with the ACLU saying the government intends to litigate each claim individually.  Frankly, we’re amazed criminal aliens apprehended in the act of violating our nation’s borders would have any standing to sue at all, especially given such family separations are in keeping with the treatment accorded criminals accosted anywhere else in the United States.

(5). Though we’re glad authorities have arrested two people in connection with a large retail theft operation in Northern California involving more than $200,000 in stolen merchandise, our joy is greatly diminished by the likelihood the perverted justice system in the once-Golden State will immediately release the accused back on the street without bail.

(6). FOX informs us New York Times Magazine “reporter” Nikole Hannah-Jones, creator of the “controversial” 1619 Project, bemoaned to the Associated Press she had to battle both Republicans and a media “propaganda campaign” against her work.  Two thoughts immediately come to mind: (1). the 1619 Project is a completely concocted calculated coloring of history, which doesn’t make it controversial, but contemptible; and, (2) Nikole Hannah-Jones isn’t a reporter, she’s a Marxist propagandist in the finest tradition of Walter Duranty.

Which brings us, inappropriately enough, to The Lighter Side:

Then there’s these from Ed Hickey…

Finally, we’ll call it a week with yet another sordid story straight from the pages of The Crime Blotter, brought to us today by a young man who thought there actually was such a thing as free sh*t:

Chicago area teen guilty of murdering 15-year-old boy during drug deal gets probation

The victim’s mother said the defendant ‘stabbed the heart of my family’ when her son was fatally stabbed

A teenager in a Chicago suburb who pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing a 15-year-old was sentenced to three years of probation and to complete community service hours.

The unidentified defendant pleaded guilty to second-degree murder after 15-year-old Elias Valdez was fatally stabbed in August of 2020 in Glenview, which is about about 20 miles from Chicago. The defendant was charged as a juvenile in the case. In addition to probation and completing 100 community service hours, a Cook County judge ordered the 17-year-old high school senior and his parents to participate in counseling.

The stabbing unfolded when Valdez tried to buy marijuana from the defendant but tried to take the drugs without paying for them, according to police. The defendant chased Valdez, ending with the two fighting and the defendant stabbing him with a utility tool. He died later that day in the hospital…”

The fact the departed’s mother gave her statement in Spanish indicates young Mr. Valdez was a recent resident of the Estados Unidos.  And which is why, while in no way seeking to absolve his killer of guilt in his murder, we’ve a hard time believing had he still been residing in his country of origin he’d had recognized NOTHING, particularly weed, was free
